Creating a Department

The Dependency Model

A Department is a top level item. Note that in the diagram above we have the notion of Division represented. This is not currently supported, but will be in an upcoming release. Within the Department Asset view you will see a tab called Structure. If you select structure you will be able to model relationships of the type represented above.

Department Hierarchy

  1. To create a department, select the Asset By Type page on the left hand tool bar.
  2. Select Department from the drop down list and hit the plus symbol.
  3. Populate the name and any other fields required.
  4. Hit the save button and the Department will appear in the Asset list
  5. To edit this Department Structure tab and you will be taken to a department view.
  6. Add sections using the add button, or edit the department properties using the edit button.
